Elementis: A Masterful Fusion of Natural Elements and Modern Design

Some stories arise by chance, others from the desire to push the boundaries of what's possible. Elementis, a new designer lighting fixture from Elite Bohemia, is a combination of both. From inspiration in art history to modern technologies that enabled the connection of natural marble with Czech crystal.

Inspired by Elements

The very name Elementis refers to nature and its raw beauty. Marble, formed over thousands of years through geological processes, and Czech crystal, known for its purity and precise craftsmanship. However, this concept isn't just about aesthetics. It's a fusion of two seemingly contrasting materials that together create harmony.

"I like contrasts," admits designer Jiří Krišica, who is behind the Elementis lighting fixture. "I wanted to create something that combines the rawness of nature with modern purity and minimalism. The smooth lines of marble represent purity, while the structured crystal element references modern architecture and its precise details."

The Birth of the Marble and Crystal Concept

The initial inspiration came from historical marble interiors that Jiří had admired during his studies of art history. Italian buildings where marble plays a central role - from famous cathedrals to luxurious palaces - left a deep impression on him. The connection with Czech crystal came as a natural progression, as both these materials share something fundamental: timelessness, luxury, and prestige.

However, combining these materials presented a challenge. Marble and Czech crystal have different properties, and to make them work together perfectly, their limitations had to be carefully explored. The marble body of the lighting fixture is created through cutting, grinding, and polishing techniques, while the crystal element is manufactured using pressed glass methods - something that traditional glassmaking techniques wouldn't allow. Although pressing might seem less traditional, it's precisely this technique that enables achieving the perfect shape, which is then hand-ground and polished to absolute precision.

Natural Luxury for Modern Interiors

Elementis is not just a lighting fixture but a true work of art that connects thousand-year-old history with modern design. Each piece of marble is unique, with patterns that cannot be artificially replicated. Every detail tells the story of nature that shaped this stone over centuries, giving each lighting fixture its distinctive character.

For the Elementis lighting fixture, black Nero Marquina marble and white Carrara marble were selected. Nero Marquina, originating from Spain, stands out with its fine-grained surface featuring white veins that occasionally transition into greenish tones. White Carrara marble comes from Italy and is synonymous with purity and elegance. Since ancient times, it has been a favorite material of sculptors and architects who created iconic works from it.

Functional Art

The aesthetic value of Elementis goes hand in hand with its functionality. Chief designer Jiří Krišica emphasized versatility, making the lighting fixture suitable for a wide range of interiors - from modern apartments to luxury hotel projects. Thanks to its smart mounting system, it can be used as a pendant light, wall light, or table lamp.

Exceptional Manufacturing Process

Ideally, producing one piece of Elementis takes approximately twelve hours, during which each step of the process is carefully monitored. Although modern technology plays an important role, more than 40% of the work is still done by hand. It's thanks to this combination that each piece meets the highest quality standards - whether it's the shine of the marble or the precise cutting of the crystal.

Why Choose Elementis?

Elementis combines the story of nature, modern technology, and uncompromising precision. It's suitable not only for those seeking a luxury element for their interior but also for architects and designers who want to add a touch of originality and timelessness to their projects.

Elementis proves that the combination of natural materials and modern design can be not only functional but also aesthetically stunning.
