The designer of the Glittering Eye lighting fixure is ELITE BOHEMIA chief designer Jiří Krišica, who was born in the picturesque Liberec region full of precious stones. This region is famous for its geodes, which hide sparkling crystals inside. Geodes and their hidden treasures inspired Jiří so much that he decided to transfer this natural beauty into a lighting.
The process of developing and manufacturing the crystal component was long and demanding. It lasted about 3 months. It all started with an idea that gradually transformed into a mood board. This serves to tune in to the designer's thinking. This was followed by a sketch, modeling in a 3D program, which makes it possible to create a more accurate idea of the final product, and visualizations, where the colors and the functioning of the components in the compositions are verified. Then came the preparation of the materials for the mold and the production of the mold itself.
During the first tests in the glass factory, the manufactured mold was tested. At the same time, basic crystal shapes were patterned. These were then sprinkled with frita (crystal dust), which gives the components their originality and unmistakable sparkle. Then it was time to cool and cut the basic shapes into the required element sizes. They acquired a high gloss thanks to the final grinding and polishing.
The Glittering Eye design stands out for its amazing craftsmanship. It is carefully crafted to create a stunning shimmering effect when lit. The entire collection has huge potential and Jiří has big plans for it. The components can work independently in clusters that are illuminated by external sources, or they can have an integrated light source hidden in a glass ball in the middle of the component.
This flexible design enables a wide range of uses in different interiors, from modern apartments to luxury hotels.
"The crystal lighting fixture offers a wide range of customization options. According to customer requirements, we can also add other colors, which will give the lighting another dimension and uniqueness", says Jiří Krišica.
The Glittering Eye lighting fixture is the embodiment of passion, precision and innovation. It is a celebration of craftsmanship, but also proof that with enough patience and determination, truly breathtaking results can be achieved.
